Project Identification: Preservation and Restoration of the Robert “Bob” Hicks House & 1906 Mill House through a Preservation & Restoration Project funded through a 2018 African American Civil Rights Grant from the National Park Services (NPS), Department of the Interior in collaboration with the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation.

Project Location: 924 & 930 ½ East Robert “Bob” Hicks Street, Bogalusa, Louisiana. Grant Recipient: Robert “Bob” Hicks Foundation.

Project Description: Project includes restoration of two buildings. The Robert “Bob” Hicks house includes the restoration of a 1950’s three bedroom residence including porch and carport reconstruction, window/door restoration, restoration of interior finishes, siding repair, handicap ramp addition, driveway, new parking area/sidewalks, new restroom outbuilding and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The 1906 Mill House restoration includes restoration of front and rear porches, window restoration, siding repair, new roof, restoration of interior finishes, handicap ramp addition, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Printed or digital Procurement and Contracting Documents: Obtain from Beard + Riser Architects online plan room www.beardriserplans.com. Contractors must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. Contractors should be experienced with restoration work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Grant Recipient and NPS will be required of the contractor chosen.
