The Hicks Foundation is honored to announce the inclusion of the historic Robert “Bob” Hicks House on the Louisiana Civil Rights Trail. A 6-foot tall marker in the silhouette of a protester holding a picket sign will be placed in front of the Robert “Bob” Hicks House in Bogalusa, accompanied by celebrations and the opportunity to meet veterans of the Bogalusa Civil Rights Movement.

The Louisiana Civil Rights Trail honors the people who organized, marched, boycotted and risked their lives to achieve equal rights and justice for all the people of Louisiana. Markers have already been placed to honor Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans, the Baton Rouge bus boycott, Little Union Baptist Church in Shreveport, and the Bogalusa to Baton Rouge March.
